Every month the DucatiTrader team will be attending track days both at home and in mainland Europe. We'll be looking at the track from different rider perspectives including veterans, novices and pure adrenaline freaks. We'll be reporting on organisation, facilities, safety, value for money, number of groups, total track time, etc.
The California Superbike School is
all about Cornering. We know what you do
in a corner; what it takes to make it right;
what can go wrong and we know how to fix
it. That's what you'll get from your school
sessions, a thorough understanding of the
tools and techniques which allow you to
discover the art of cornering.
Cadwell has a reputation as one of the most exciting
circuits in the UK, it certainly provides some
of the most stunning TV coverage in any season.
Everything they say about Cadwell is true!. It's
a circuit, which has everything, fast, twisty,
scary, leaps -the lot!
I bet few can forget the images of Neil Hodgson 'defying gravity' over the famous 'Mountain' section of the circuit, filmed from the back of Chris Walker's Suzuki in recent years.
It's worth checking when you sign up that you are actually getting 'full circuit' access. Like Brands Hatch and Donington Park, there is a huge difference between the 'Full Monty' and say, the Brands Indy Circuit.

100% Bikes organisation was generally good, dividing
attendees up into three groups; 'novices', 'intermediate'
and 'fast'. They were even smart enough to monitor the
first session for each group and make changes where
needed. Initial briefing was clear and precise.
In the intermediate group things were hectic and competitive. This soon proved to be more than just a 'normal' track day with plenty of fairing bashing and all was explained when we finally discovered that the New Era Racing Club had a meeting scheduled for that weekend. There was clearly some practising going on for the meeting. The fast group was thus clearly not for the faint hearted.
That said, and apart from a few comments about a lack of any attempt to scrutineer any bikes, (even a cursory glance for oil leaks would have been nice), the organisers did a better than average job of getting everyone round quickly, safely and with plenty of track time.
The circuit itself takes a few laps to learn and little caution with lack of run off areas particularly in the Woodland sections. The country sections are very fast and with great visibility. It's one of those circuits that grows on you as you realise with every lap that each and every corner can actually be taken faster than you thought.
The mountain is an awesome sight on the first lap and pretty exiting when you first hit it. Front wheel up ?, rear wheel up ? Both up ? Surely not, but oh yes this is part of the design and makes for some experiences you just won't find anywhere else.
Overall, great day , great circuit - wish I lived near Louth !
